Student Scholarship Competition Announcement

Application Deadline: March 10, 2024.


The Southern California CSCMP Roundtable is awarding several scholarships to students in the fields of logistics, manufacturing, supply chain, and analytics. The Dave Evans Memorial Scholarship of $2,000 will be awarded to one distinguished undergraduate or graduate student. In addition, two scholarships of $750 are available for community college students and four scholarships of $1,000 each are available to university students. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Southern California community college, college, or university (Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, or San Bernardino Counties). Students should be pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies in business, operations/supply chain, management, engineering, or economics and have a demonstrated interest in a career in operations, supply chain management, logistics, manufacturing, data analytics or a closely related field.

Applicants who have previously received a scholarship award (excluding a travel award to attend EDGE) from the Southern California Roundtable are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be current CSCMP members.

To apply, please send the following three documents to the address below.

  1. Copy of professional resume.
  2. Letter of application.
  3. Letter of recommendation (Forwarded directly by the recommender).

The letter of recommendation should come from a faculty member or professional colleague familiar with the applicant’s history, academic career, and career goals, and should comment on academic performance and career potential in supply chain. The letter of recommendation must be forwarded directly by the recommender. The letter of application should be at most two pages and should provide evidence of interest, suitability, and engagement in the supply chain field. Importantly, applicants should clearly identify their past involvement with CSCMP (e.g., events attended). Moreover, there should be a focus on how the applicant plans to achieve/further their career in supply chain. Lastly, applicants should describe how they will use the scholarship money in detail and how it fulfills a need. All materials must be received by March 10, 2024.
